A National Intelligence Agency operative appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Thursday on charges of Contravening the Provisions of the Intelligence Services Act, the SABC reported.

According to the charge sheet, he did this without permission of the Director-General of the NIA, the SABC reported.

The member was arrested on Thursday morning and later released on bail of R5 000.

He must report to the Protea Glen police
station in Soweto every Friday and in addition was ordered not to leave Gauteng without notifying the police.
