A U.S. man has been sentenced to death for killing a woman and her two daughters during a night of terror in their suburban home that halted momentum to abolish the death penalty in the state of Connecticut.
Joshua Komisarjevsky joins accomplice Steven Hayes and nine other men on Connecticut's death row. The state's last execution in 2005 was the first since 1960. The 31-year-old Komisarjevsky will likely spend decades in prison.
A jury condemned Komisarjevsky to death Dec. 9. He was sentenced by Friday. A jury had recommended the death penalty.
The two paroled burglars tormented a family of four in the affluent suburb before killing Jennifer Hawke-Petit and leaving her daughters to die in a fire. - Sapa-AP

Everyone should know that if you going to ruthlessly kill somebody in a crime of any sort, you have to sacrifice your life for the life you have taken!Bring back the DEATH pENALTY, WE never HAD MURDERS daily IN THIS cOUNTRY WHEN WE HAD THE DEATH PENALTY !It worked fine and got rid of the Criminals permanently!

Is this not what is needed in this Country? When you home is invaded or your farm and somedboy is killed? What right have criminals got to invade your home, murder one of your family in the process and just get a light jail sentence? Can they never bring that person back or compensate.! They should pay with their lives then!Murder and killing in this Country has become too EASY and too MUCH. 25 years in Jail? what is that for a life? and then they get parole- NO bring back the death sentence if you go and kill anybody in their hometheir businesstheir farm etc. Get rid of the scum because they will do it again! They are KILLERS not NORMAl human beings!People must know, if i enter another persons property illegally and go and rob and kill, I WILL get hanged.

I think the death penalty is more humane. Those tormented souls don't know why they kill and prison sentence does not teach them anything, but torment them further. To spare them more suffering (and for society), rather eliminate them with a lethal injection. A person who goes to jail will be raped, get HIV and when he eventually comes out, heshe will be a very bitter and dangerous individua (Besides hisher genetic tendency to do harm). On top of that heshe cannot find work because of his criminal record and so has only 1 alternative: do more crime. Do we want people like that back in society?

100% agree. In SA we should have a referendum and let the people vote Y or N for the death penalty an dyou will see that the majority will vote Y. Deathe Penalty for Rape & Murder.

@ Jason - The wasy people breed here we could never have a shortage of population but it would even things out a bit and possibly stop some of the violence. Let the people vote on the death penalty not the corrupt govt. !! I guarantee you the results for pro death penalty would be overwhelming

have it here? First the cops would have to catch the criminal, which hardly ever happens. Then, if caught, the criminal would have to go through a trial process. But before that the charge dockets would be lost. So the criminal would be set free for lack of evidence.
