Church sets Guiness record

The Pretoria Hatfield Christian Church has set a new Guinness World record for the largest hand-knitted blanket, the church said on Thursday.
“Hundreds of ladies contributed time and effort to this project and it was only through a team effort that we achieved our record,” said Ladies Ministry head Ingrid Trusler in a statement.
The blanket was granted world record status last week in an e-mail sent from the records management team.
It took 3610 balls of yarn to knit the 557.34 square metre blanket. It weighed 332 kg.
Trusler said the blanket was divided into 361 smaller ones which were given to communities in the Tshwane area in June. - Sapa
