Mildenhall 'needed to be taken care of'

Former Allan Gray auditor Stephen Mildenhall was a "real problem" and "something had to be done" about him, state witness Clinton Nassif told the High Court in Johannesburg on Thursday.
The auditor was shot on August 31, 2005, apparently for standing in slain mining magnate Brett Kebble's way of obtaining a loan to save his mining companies.
He was shot three times and spent three days in intensive care.
Nassif, Kebble's security chief, said during a meeting with Glenn Agliotti and his business partner John Stratton he was told Mildenhall "needed to be taken care of".
Agliotti, a convicted drug trafficker, is on trial for Kebble's murder.

However, Agliotti and Nassif spoke afterward and decided not to go ahead with it.
Nassif began doing security work for Stratton and Agliotti some months before. Agliotti introduced him to Stratton.
After a while, Nassif met Agliotti who told him Mildenhall did not have to be "taken care of" for another three to six months.
"I asked Mikey [boxer and self-confessed Kebble hitman Mikey Schultz] if this was possible to go down and shut this guy up for a couple of weeks."
Agliotti and Nassif decided to charge Stratton R1 million for the job, however, they never received full payment. Nassif got R200,000 from Agliotti which he then gave to Schultz.
Schultz gave Nassif Mildenhall's drivers licence as proof the job had been done, who in turn reported back to Agliotti.
