Man gets bail twice

The DA was on Wednesday dismayed that a man was granted bail on cash-in-transit heist and murder charges, despite being out on bail for another heist.
"It is absolutely inconceivable that this man could again be granted bail," said Democratic Alliance spokeswoman Dianne Kohler-Barnard.
Percy Segoe was out on bail for a heist in November 2007 when he allegedly committed another heist and shot a policeman dead on June 5.
He was released on R1000 bail on Tuesday, Beeld reported.
Segoe and a group of heavily armed men allegedly rammed two Coin security vehicles at the N1 Maraisburg offramp in Johannesburg, Captain Segapo of Protea North police said.
The men grabbed cash bags from the vehicle and ended up in Protea North in Soweto.
A shoot-out ensued between police and robbers and dog unit Sergeant Gert du Toit was shot dead.
Along with two other men, Segoe has been charged with the murder of Du Toit as well as two cases of robbery, for stealing a car used in the getaway and for almost R2 million stored in the stolen cash bags.
Kohler-Barnard said many criminals were slipping through the criminal justice system and families were left to deal with the emotions after a crime.
"What is the criminal justice system doing against criminals in this country?" she asked.
