Residents of Ethandakukhanya in Piet Retief have gone on the rampage, burning tyres over allegations of financial mismanagement in the municipality, the SABC reported on Monday.
They've also threatened to render the town in Mpumalanga ungovernable, the broadcaster said.
This follows a meeting between themselves, the provincial MEC for Corporate Governance and Traditional Affairs, Norman Mokoena, and the Mayor of the Gert Sibande District Municipality, Andries Gumede. Residents said they will only talk with the province's Premier, David Mabuza. - Sapa
